Brisbane developer-builder Tom Dooley has broken ground on a $486-million residential tower at Newstead, adding 164 apartments to the city’s booming inner-north pipeline.
Set on a 2,500 square metre site, the building will overlook Newstead Park with views to the Brisbane River.
Designed by Plazibat Architects, Solais will deliver 164 residences across two and three-bedroom apartments, priced from $1.698 million, along with a collection of penthouses. More than 3,000 square metres of resident amenity includes a wellness and work-from-home retreat on level 5 and a rooftop recreation area.
Founder and managing director Tom Dooley says the site was chosen after an extensive search for land offering city connectivity, protected parkland and river views, and an easy walk to shopping and dining, while sitting just outside the higher-density Gasworks precinct.
“Sites with those characteristics are extremely difficult to find, which is why we undertake extensive due diligence and are prepared to wait for the right opportunity,” he said.
Adrian Parsons, managing director of TOTAL Property Group, which is managing sales, says premium buyers are weighing location, apartment size, design, amenity and developer experience, with particular focus on certainty of delivery.
